My Breville IQ Convection Toaster Oven Cooking Experience

by ToasterReviews on August 16, 2009

Finally they day had come – I was going to cook a meal with the Breville “Smart” Toaster Oven. I preheated the toaster oven to 350 degrees and placed some nuts into a pie pan in the oven. About 6.5 minutes later they were golden brown. I won’t go into more detail, but once I had everything prepared I placed the baking pan inside the Breville iq convection toaster oven and let it go.

I had cooked the same meal before in a normal oven as well as in a cheapo toaster oven at a friend’s place and it never turned out perfect.  The heat was never even and so one side of the dish was great while the other was either overcooked or minutes behind and how do you want to split such a meal then without destroying it?! Let me put it this way – with the Breville bov800xl toaster oven I had the perfect meal. It was evenly cooked and the minutes that the recipe suggested it would need to cook were right on. I never had a recipe where the minutes matched reality. Here it was – my perfect cooking experience with the Breville bov800xl Smart Toaster Oven.

A great oven. I haven’t baked, toasteded anything that didn’t do a excellent job. It preheats in a few min. Bakes evenly and is easy to use and clean. I have used foil and glass in the oven careful that nothing touches the heating elements. I give this oven the highest raiting. Did I mention the plate heating on top? Very nice in this cold weather.
